Anaconda vs Python: What Is Difference? All the snakes are not dangerous for human being There are a lot of families and species of snakes in the world almost 2700 species. Some are of them poisonous and some are un poisonous. Some live in the forest some live in the desert and some live in the water.

Pythons are nonvenomous snakes found in Asia, Africa, and Australia. Because they are not native to North or South America, they are considered Old World snakes. The word python can refer to both the family Pythonidae or the genus Python, found within Pythonidae.

Even though anacondas are a subset of boa snakes. They all are cold-blooded, carnivorous and swallow their food whole, but despite similarities, each snake has its distinguishing traits.

No doubt Pythons and Anacondas are the greatest snakes in the world. Most of the people are confused to identify the difference between Pythons and Anaconda snakes most of them think that both snakes belong to the same family but it is not. Both snakes belong to different families of snakes.

Anacondas

Anacondas belong to the boa family. it is one of the heaviest and largest snakes of the world and is found in South America and the Amazon basin Anacondas as members of the boa family are sometimes called ‘water boas. It is a semi-aquatic snake that is mostly found in tropical South America and generally lives in rivers, swamps, and marshes. Anacondas are stocky, muscular snakes often thicker than boas. Their nostrils and eyes are located on the top of their head that allows them to see its prey when submerged in water. Some Anaconda is as big and overpowers that they can eat a crocodile. It almost spends most of the time in the water There are 61 species of Anaconda Some are of their name.

Size of Anacondas

Pythons generally like to live grasslands, rocky foothills, rainforests, and savannas. They are mostly carnivorous as they generally feed on birds, mammals like monkeys, antelopes, frogs, deer, etc. They are constrictors as they wrap their body around their prey and squeeze until the prey stops breathing and die. After killing the prey, they swallow it in one piece.

Pythons are excellent swimmers and have heat-sensing organs that allow them to see in the dark and thus to locate their prey. They are cold-blooded animals so cannot regulate their body temperature on their own and often increase their body temperature through sunbathing whey they are cold. They can measure up to 30 feet in length and weigh around 260 to 300 pounds and can live up to 40 years in captivity. The female python lays around 12 to 36 eggs.
